2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

Introduction
Welcome to Wigan Christadelphians, seen as a warm and inclusive church dedicated to living the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Our faith unites us in love and service, and together we strive to make a positive impact in our lives and on those around us.
We are a non Trinitarian Christian church and part of the wider global community of Christadelphians with a UK base of some 315 church meeting rooms. We have had a presence in the Wigan area since the late 1800’s. Our aim being (i) to provide a place of worship in the gospel of Jesus Christ and (ii) promote this gospel through a variety of formal and informal preaching activities, Bible Study and practical Christian living.

Our services

We meet every Sunday at 11.00 for our Breaking of Bread Service (Communion) and provide a simple communal lunch afterwards.
Visitors are welcome to attend and specifically Christians of any denomination who take communion at their church of choice are likewise welcome to share in taking bread and wine in remembrance of Jesus.
Bible Class is presently by Zoom conferencing every Wednesday at 8pm, Log in details on request.
From time to time we may have additional bible study classes, likely mid week morning at the meeting room, details of which will be issued on this web page.
Our Beliefs

Christadelphians have been a community in Wigan since the late 1800s and we consider ourselves as part of the worldwide community of Christadelphians who follow principles initially outlined around the early 1860’s.
Christadelphian churches are all autonomous and as such we are generally connected by a common list of beliefs that we hold to be from the bible.
As a Christian church, we believe that our salvation is dependent upon God’s grace and not on any good things that we may do nor have we any righteousness of our own. We do differ slightly in our understanding of God from some other churches but we recognize that the overarching authority and practice of love is the sign of any discipleship of the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ is the center and purpose of God’s plan and through faith in him, we have fellowship with God and ultimately salvation from death.
The following list outlines our understanding of the Bible and is the core of our beliefs as a community;
- There is One God.
- Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, born of a virgin birth by Mary.
- The Holy Spirit is the power of God.
- The Bible is inspired by the Word of God.
- We believe that the Lord Jesus will return to the earth and the dead will be raised which is generally termed as the Kingdom of God.
- Baptism is seen as the acceptance by faith of these things and the sign of the believer’s good conscience towards God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The church, or community, is held together by the love and fellowship shown towards each other and those we come into contact with and is the sign of the fruits of the grace of God working in our lives.
- We welcome all people without judgment or partiality.
- Our practice is to meet each Sunday morning where we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus by the sharing of bread and wine. This includes hymns, prayers, and a Bible-based talk appropriate to the occasion which offers guidance and support.
- During our meeting together we may take a private, voluntary offering of money which is used to cover the cost of the meeting room upkeep, various immediate cases of need, and also to support local and worldwide charities as we see the need arise.
- Membership of our Church is constituted by a request by a person, wanting to belong to us, for baptism.
